TORONTO, ON - August 17, 2009, - On August 22nd, 2009, Betfair Poker will host its Free Million Dollar Game Canadian Final. A highlight of the festivities will include a celebrity/media challenge live in The Score television studios at 12:00pm. Local media personalities will be joined by some of the NHL's young guns including: Sam Gagner and Rob Schremp (Edmonton Oilers), Kyle Quincey (Colorado Avalanche), Nazem Kadri (1st round pick Toronto Maple Leafs) to face off for a first prize of $5,000 to be donated to Shoot For A Cure in the winner's name, along with a trophy and bragging rights!
Betfair Poker's Free Million Dollar Game Canadian Final, which is a free event to enter, will feature 18 players from across Canada competing for the chance to represent Canada at the World Series of Poker Europe presented by Betfair, in London, England. The Canadian winner will then play off against 17 other players from around the world for a MILLION DOLLAR FIRST PRIZE - the biggest first prize ever to be given out for a free to enter tournament.
Betfairpoker.net has been a big supporter of the Shoot For A Cure campaign, and recently helped to raise $25,000 for the charity this past spring.
