Hand Ranking
The single most important thing that you need to know in poker is which hand beats which! A poker hand consists of five cards and here you can find the full list of possible poker hands in descending order. Familiarise yourself with these or you will be at a huge disadvantage
Texas Hold'em
Whether you're a novice poker player or an expert card shark, Texas Hold'em provides heaps of excitement! This variant of poker is the most popular in the world and if you have seen poker on TV, then it is most likely that they were playing Texas Hold'em. This is THE game to learn.
Omaha
Omaha High is a great poker game, similar to the more popular Texas Hold'em game, but with marked differences in both play and strategy. The main difference lies in your pocket cards, four of which are dealt to each player. Lots of action is guaranteed as big hands are common.
Ring Games
Ring games are one of three core types of poker game that you can play. They involve sitting down with an amount of chips at a table where each hand is independent of the others. Players can enter, leave or bring more chips to the table at any time.
Single Table
Also known as "Sit & Gos", these are a great way to learn poker because you are limiting your risk to the number of chips you bring initially to the table. After you bring in a set number of chips, each player starts with an equal amount - the aim is to be the last player standing!
Multi Table
Multi Table Tournaments (MTTs) are generally seen as the ultimate poker challenge and can involve up to several thousand players taking place over many tables. They follow the same format as Sit & Gos but the beauty is that you can bring in very few chips, and end up winning a huge prize!
